The Art of Protest

2020 / 45m / Documentary
Directed by Colin M. Day

SYNOPSIS

A bold survey of global activist art that reveals how creative practices, from murals and posters to performance and textiles, have long served as essential tools of resistance within protest movements.

ABOUT THE FILM

The Art of Protest brings together artists, musicians, and cultural figures who treat creative expression as direct political engagement. Through stories of guerrilla installations, graphic campaigns, street art, and textile-based activism, the documentary highlights how visual language shapes movements and mobilizes communities.

Rather than presenting art as background to protest, it centers the makers who understand design as a catalyst for awareness, solidarity, and change.
